Just charcoal and paper, no models, no subject. This could be easily enough to draw for a lifetime depending on your inclinations. I have often started paintings with charcoal designs or rhythmical patterns because it’s so easy to rework and modify. The charcoal is still visible in some, see “painted charcoals” page, or it is so buried that I often don’t remember that I began a specific painting that way.
